Ultherapy

Traditionally, plastic surgeons in the Sacramento area and elsewhere use methods such as facial surgery, laser and light treatments, or injectables to restore a youthful appearance to the face, but there’s another option: Dr. Christa Clark now offers FDA-approved Ultherapy in the Sacramento and Roseville region. This is an advanced, non-invasive, no-downtime option that uses ultrasound energy for firming and lifting loose skin of the brow, neck, and below the chin. With Ultherapy, you can erase the years from your face and neck with the gentle power of ultrasound.

Dr. Clark takes the time to get to know you and understand your lifestyle and your needs. She is committed to helping you achieve results you’ll love. Contact us for more information about Dr. Clark or the procedures she offers.

Is Ultherapy for You?

Referred to as an “uplift,” Ultherapy is not a replacement for facial plastic surgery, but an alternative or complement to it. It serves as an effective option for:

  • Younger individuals who want to delay aging
  • Those who are not ready for surgery
  • People who want to prolong the effects of cosmetic facial surgery

Those with mild to moderate loose skin see the best results, but even those with severe skin laxity can see improvement.

Ultherapy Explained

Dr. Clark offers a full range of treatments for good skin care for Sacramento-area patients, and now Ultherapy is an exciting addition to her menu of services. The treatment is so innovative that it initiated a new category in FDA approval. At its inception in 2009, it was the only technique with an FDA indication for non-invasive facelift.

For your Ultherapy treatment, you will have a single session with Dr. Clark in her medical office. It usually takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Using a handpiece similar to that used for prenatal ultrasounds, Dr. Clark will deliver focused ultrasound energy at precise depths into the tissue layers beneath your skin. This activates your body’s natural restorative processes, triggering the growth of new collagen (neocollagenesis) and firming the skin. The tightened skin is “lifted” into a more defined, youthful state.

Patients experience varying degrees of discomfort, but most find the procedure tolerable without pain medication.

Recovery and Results

Following your treatment, you may go about your day as normal without any restrictions. The treatment has been known to produce some redness for 2 to 3 hours, minimal swelling for 2 to 3 days, and tingling or tenderness for 2 to 3 weeks. These symptoms are typically mild.

Your body will continue producing collagen over the following months. Final results usually appear after about 2 to 3 months. Some patients have experienced continued improvement for as many as 6 months. The treatment can produce firmer, more lifted skin on the brow, along the jawline, on the neck, and below the chin.
