Earlobe Repair

The ears are delicate structures, and just like other parts of our bodies, they can begin to sag and droop over time, especially after years of wearing earrings. Occasionally, an earring wearer may suffer a torn lobe that needs repair. Younger people often find themselves unhappy with the appearance of their earlobes, as well, thanks in part to the popularity of gauged ears, which can damage and stretch the lobes beyond the point that they can naturally heal. Dr. Clark provides earlobe repair to Sacramento-area men and women who are embarrassed by or uncomfortable with their elongated, sagging, or torn earlobes.

Dr. Clark takes the time to get to know you and understand your lifestyle and your needs. She is committed to helping you achieve results you’ll love from your Sacramento earlobe repair procedure. Contact us for more information about Dr. Clark or the procedures she offers.

Earlobe Repair Explained

Earlobe repair is a relatively simple surgery, performed while the patient is under local anesthesia to minimize risk. Once the ear is sufficiently anesthetized, Dr. Clark will use sutures to close the earlobe hole or injury. The procedure is relatively short, often requiring less than an hour from start to finish.

Recovery and Results

After earlobe repair surgery with Dr. Clark, you’ll likely experience some soreness for 1 or 2 days following your procedure. This pain is generally minor and manageable with over-the-counter pain medicines. You’ll need to ensure that your sutures stay as clean and dry as possible to minimize the risk of infection and excessive scarring. Dr. Clark generally removes earlobe sutures between 10 and 14 days after surgery. Earlobe repair may be combined with other surgery, including otoplasty, to further enhance and complete your results.
